Upon my death, what shall my heirs have to do in order to have access to the assets held in Trust?

In the Trust contract you should identify your heirs in an appropriate manner (in our contracts we indicate their full names, their relationship to you (the trustor or grantor) and a permanent identification number.

When your death occurs, your heirs will need to demonstrate two things: that they are the same people appointed by you in the trust contract, and that you have actually died. Proof of your death will be accomplished by the submittal of an official death certificate which will have to be issued by the Costa Rican Civil Register and/or your local Register and must be presented properly notarized by the nearest Costa Rican consulate.
